On 11 April 2027, Dan Bacon will attempt to run 125km from Roundhay Park in Leeds to West Park in Long Eaton.

The target is 24 hours. The finish line is West Park, home of Layer Run Club.

But the distance is only one part of the challenge.

Over the coming months, we'll document the preparation behind The Long Way Home. The training, the decisions, the difficult sessions and the moments when the scale of the challenge starts to become real.

This is the first official Challenge in Chase The Impossible.

There's no guarantee of success. The aim is to follow the attempt from its earliest stages and tell the story as it unfolds.

This is where it begins.
